Zetel: chair, seat (as in Parliament), throne in Dutch. This concept places the spectator within a framework. The seat consists of three elements: a pedestal, a wall and a frame: the well-known bearers of the two and three dimensional visual arts. When looked at, these elements form an abstract composition, a still life. When in use, the composition transforms into a person’s portrait.
