Sculpture

Her former sculptural work dealt with the design of common objects and the way they stand out or disappear in their setting, including the self-evident acceptance of people who relate to those objects. By merging opposite design language into her veneer works Van Diemen created  enigmatic pieces of sculpture that won several awards: Delloit Touche Sculpture Award 1995, Amsterdam Foundation of the Arts 1991, Rijksakadamie-Award (Uriot-award) 1989, Centraal Beheer Award 1987 and several stipendia of the Dutch Mondriaan Fund.
